Roughly ten years ago, I arrived at Fort Meade, MD. They got me before I made it in the front gate. I was asked by a soldier to go inside and get the keys for the humvee. Military vehicles don't use keys. The next four years of my life were...well irreplaceable I guess you could say.
Tomorrow, I'm on a plane. I'm the new kid in a foreign land once again.
But this time I don't get to go back to base and hide in my little American bubble.
Bring it.
